Linaga (Boiled Chicken Stew) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 lb.) chicken, cut into serving size pieces
    5 c. water
    1 Tbsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. crushed peppercorns
    2 tsp. salt
    2 c. onion, quartered
    1 c. celery, cut into 2-inch lengths
    4 medium potatoes, quartered
    1 small cabbage, quartered
    1/2 c. scallions, cut into 2-inch lengths
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, combine chicken pieces, water, ginger, peppercorns, salt, onion and celery.
    Bring to a boil; lower heat, cover and simmer until chicken is tender.
    Add potatoes.
    Simmer until tender.
    Add cabbage and green onions and cook until soft. Serve hot.
    Makes 4 servings.
