Fried Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2/3 c. boiling water
    2 c. plain flour
    1 rounded tsp. salt
    1 rounded tsp. baking powder
    1 pkg. dried fruit (apples or peaches)
Preparation
    Cover fruit with water; let soak until fruit swells.
    Cook on low fire until tender.
    Add sugar to desired sweetness.
    Melt Crisco in boiling water.
    Add to flour, salt and baking powder. With fork, lightly mix until side of bowl is clean.
    Cover with Saran Wrap; refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
