Cinnamon Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. red cinnamon candies
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    2 c. water
    8 3/4 oz. can crushed pineapple
    6 small tart apples, pared, cored and drained
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1/3 c. snipped dates
    2 Tbsp. milk
    2 Tbsp. chopped nuts
    lettuce
Preparation
    In 3 quart
    saucepan,
    cook
    cinnamon
    candies in water until dissolved.\tAdd apples
    and cook slowly, uncovered, just until tender, about 15
    to
    20
    minutes,\tturning
    once during cooking. Refrigerate apples\tin
    syrup several hours, turning once.\t(As the apples stand,
    they absorb the bright red color of the candies.) Blend
    together
    cream cheese, milk and lemon juice until smooth and creamy.
    Add pineapple, dates and nuts. Drain apples.
    Stuff centers with cream cheese mixture.
    Serve on lettuce-lined plates.
    Makes 6 servings.
