Seven Minute Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 unbeaten egg whites
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    6 Tbsp. cold water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Place egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar and cold water in double boiler.
    Cook over medium heat.
    Beat with electric mixer until stiff, approximately 7 minutes.
    Beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla after removing from heat.
