Nell'S Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 1/2 to 6 lb. cooking apples
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. salt
8 c. water
Preparation

Blend together all but apples.
Cook until thick.
Peel and dice apples ahead.
Pack diced apples in jars.
Add hot thickener to jars.
Process 20 minutes for quarts and 15 minutes for pints in standard old type blue canner.
