Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. applesauce
1 tsp. soda, added to 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
2 c. flour, unsifted

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs; mix well.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add alternately with applesauce.
Add soda in boiling water.
