Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. water
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
    3/4 c. finely chopped onion
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. white pepper
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    8 oz. (2 c.) shredded American cheese
    2 c. half and half
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. cold water
    1/4 c. butter
Preparation
    In a 3-quart saucepan, bring water to boil for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Add salt, white
    pepper,\tgarlic powder and shredded cheese.
    Stir until cheese
    melts.
    Add
    half
    and
    half
    and butter.
    Stir and heat to boiling.\tSlowly add water to flour, stirring constantly, until texture\tis
    smooth.
    Slowly add to hot mixture, stirring rapidly.\tCook
    and
    stir
    until soup is the consistency of heavy cream.
    Serves 8 to 10.
