Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. corn meal
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/4 c. oil or melted fat
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Mix in corn meal and make well in the center.
Combine egg, milk and melted shortening or oil, then stir into dry ingredients.
Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes at 375\u00b0. Cut into squares when done or bake in a bun or muffin pan for 15 minutes.
Makes 16.
