Abbie'S Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. blackberry or strawberry jam
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. buttermilk with 1 Tbsp. soda, dissolved
    2 c. chopped nuts
    3/4 c. whole raisins
    flour to make medium thick batter, about 2 c. (all-purpose)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar, add eggs 1 at a time, add jam and spices.
    Add buttermilk and soda, add flour and mix well.
    Fold in nuts and raisins.
    Bake in layers in 350\u00b0 oven.
    This makes 5 or 6 layers.
    You can half this recipe and have a large cake.
    This cake freezes well.
