Dropped Teacakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    4 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/4 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Cream butter in a large bowl.
    Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
    Add eggs, beating well.
    Combine flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg.
    Add flour mixture to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk, mixing well.
    Stir in vanilla.
    Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until Tea Cakes are lightly browned.
    Cool on wire racks.
    Yields 6 dozen.
