Hopping John - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon, diced
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. rice
    2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce
    1 (15 oz.) can kidney or pinto beans, drained
Preparation
    Pan-fry bacon and onion in heavy saucepan until onion
    is tender but not brown. Stir in rice, water, salt, hot pepper sauce and beans. Bring to a boil, cover and cook over low heat for about 15 minutes or until done. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
