Caramels - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. or 2 sticks margarine
2 c. light corn syrup
2 c. sugar
2 (15 oz.) cans sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In heavy saucepan melt butter.
Add corn syrup and sugar.
Boil for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly.
Add 1 1/2 cans of milk.
Mix flour with rest of milk.
Add to syrup mixture. Boil until darkens and forms medium hard ball (240\u00b0).
Stir constantly or mixture will stick.
Add vanilla and pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cool and cut into 1-inch pieces.
Wrap in wax paper.
