Raisin-Filled Cookies - cooking recipe

1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 (15 oz.) pkg. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. packed brown sugar
3 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. (heaping) soda
Preparation

Combine sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and 1/8 teaspoon salt in a saucepan.
Blend in water and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Add raisins. Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Cool.
Cream shortening and brown sugar in mixer bowl.
Blend in eggs.
Add 3 1/2 cups flour, 1 tablespoon vanilla, 1/8 teaspoon salt and soda; mix well.
Chill dough.
