Mother'S Orange Candy Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 lb. orange slice candy
    8 oz. pitted dates
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    3 1/4 c. coconut
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs, salt, soda and buttermilk. Mix thoroughly.
    Add 2 cups flour and nuts.
    Mix remaining 1 cup flour with candy slices and dates.
    Cut candy and dates into small pieces, add to cake mixture.
    Add coconut, mix thoroughly.
    Pour into greased angel food cake pan.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
