French Market Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cups of soup mix
    2 quarts of water
    1 large ham hock
    1 (16 oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained and coarsely chopped
    1 1/2 cups onion, chopped
    3 Tbsp lemon juice
    1 chile pepper, coarsely chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp pepper
Preparation
    Sort and wash soup mix; place in Dutch oven.
    Cover with water 2 inches above soup mix; let soak 8 hours.
