Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. corn syrup
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/4 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Combine corn syrup, sugar and vinegar in saucepan.
    Cook to hard ball stage or 260\u00b0 on candy thermometer, stirring frequently. Remove from heat.
    Stir in soda and butter.
    Beat until smooth and creamy. Spread on buttered dish.
    Let stand until cool enough to handle. Pull taffy with buttered hands until firm.
    Yields 24 servings.
