Pistachio Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. nutmeats (optional)
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
    1 c. powdered sugar
    1 large container Cool Whip, divided
    2 small pkg. instant pistachio pudding
    3 c. milk
    nuts or chopped maraschino cherries
Preparation
    Mix the first 4 ingredients together; pat into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake for 12 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Cool.
