Peanut Pattie Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. white corn syrup
    3 1/2 c. (about 16 oz.) raw peanuts
    8 to 10 drops red food coloring
    1 stick margarine
    1 pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Bring sugar, water and syrup to boil.
    Add peanuts and coloring.
    Cook over medium heat to 250\u00b0 or hard-ball.
    Remove from heat and add butter, salt and vanilla.
    Beat until thick. Pour onto buttered cookie sheet.
    Let cool and break into pieces.
