Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lentils (wash and soak for 30 minutes in 2 quarts water)
    1 onion, chopped
    2 carrots
    parsley, celery, bay leaf (optional)
    salt and pepper
    ham, bacon or bologna pieces for seasoning
    2 c. tomato juice
Preparation
    Cook lentils for 20
    minutes.
    Add
    the
    rest of ingredients and simmer until vegetables are soft;
    30 minutes or so.
    Our family enjoys this.
