Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. chopped onion

Preparation

In large bowl, sift together dry ingredients.
Add remaining ingredients and mix until blended.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into deep hot fat (375\u00b0).
Fry golden brown.
