Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 green tomatoes
    12 green or red bell peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    6 c. vinegar
    4 c. onions
    4 c. cabbage (optional)
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    1 1/2 Tbsp. turmeric
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    4 to 6 hot peppers
Preparation
    Grind tomatoes, peppers, onions and cabbage; drain.
    Sprinkle with salt.
    Let set overnight.
    Rinse and drain.
    Combine remaining ingredients.
    Heat to full boil; boil 10 to 15 minutes. Put in jars and seal.
