Rock'S Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head cabbage
    1 large onion
    1 green pepper (optional)
    2 c. plus 2 tsp. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. salad oil
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. dry mustard
Preparation
    Shred cabbage finely.
    Slice onion thin.
    Put layer of cabbage in large bowl (I use Tupperware for this).
    Then layer of onion, etc., until bowl is filled.
    Pour 2 cups of sugar over this.
    Mix together the other ingredients with 2 teaspoons sugar.
    Bring to a boil.
    Pour over cabbage mixture; mix well.
    Place in container with tight lid; cover.
    Store in refrigerator.
    Let stand 4 hours. Stir well and serve.
    Keeps as long as it lasts.
