Un-Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 eggs
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. oil
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 lb. pitted dates
    4 c. whole pecan halves
Preparation
    Combine eggs, sugar and oil; beat well.
    Add remaining ingredients, mixing well (will be very thick and hard to mix). Place in a greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan.
    Bake in a slow 300\u00b0 oven for 2 hours.
    Cake must be started in a cold oven. Makes one 3 pound loaf of fruitcake without candied fruit.
