Cranberry Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. quick oats
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. finely grated lemon peel
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    3/4 c. margarine, melted
    16 oz. can whole cranberry sauce
    1/4 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a large bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, lemon peel and baking soda.
    Stir in melted margarine and mix thoroughly.
    Reserve 1 cup for topping.
    Pat the rest into an ungreased 12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Bake 20 minutes. Carefully spread cranberry sauce atop crust.
    Stir nuts into reserved oat mixture and sprinkle on top.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden.
    Cool in pan on wire rack.
    Will freeze for up to 12 months.
    Makes 24 bars.
