Chow Mein - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pork sausage
    4 c. water
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    3 c. shredded cabbage
    1 c. sliced onion
    2 1/3 c. chopped celery
    1 can raw mushrooms
    1/4 c. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Brown the sausage and set aside.
    Combine all ingredients in a 5-quart saucepan (a Dutch oven works best).
    Bring it to a boil and cook just until vegetables are tender-crisp.
    In a small dish mix 1/4 cup cornstarch and 1/4 cup water.
    Add to the vegetable and meat mixture.
    Cook just until thickened.
    Serve over rice or noodles.
