Squash Apple Scallop - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium butternut squash
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. corn syrup
2 tsp. grated orange rind
1 c. boiling water
1 medium onion
2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced in 1/2-inch rings
2 Tbsp. orange juice
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
Preparation

Peel squash, slice in half lengthwise and remove seeds.
Cut into slices.
Place in a saucepan with water and salt.
Cover and cook for 15 minutes; drain.
Layer squash and apple slices in a 1-quart greased casserole.
Combine sugar, corn syrup, orange juice and orange rind.
Pour over squash and apples.
Dot with butter.
Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes, or until apples are tender.
Makes 6 servings.
