Hash Brown Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. shredded American or Cheddar cheese
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of chicken soup
    1 c. sour cream
    1 c. finely chopped onion (optional)
    1/4 c. butter, melted
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 (32 oz.) pkg. frozen loose pack hash browns, thawed
    1 c. corn flakes, crushed
    1 Tbsp. butter, melted
Preparation
    In a large mixing bowl combine the shredded cheese, chicken soup, sour cream, chopped onion, 1/4 cup melted butter, salt and pepper.
    Mix well.
    Fold in the thawed hash brown potatoes.
    Turn mixture into a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
