Eggnog - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. milk
6 eggs
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. whipping cream, whipped
nutmeg
Preparation

Heat milk in large saucepan until hot but not boiling.
While milk is heating, beat together eggs and salt in a large bowl, gradually adding the sugar.
Gradually stir the hot milk into the egg mixture; transfer back to the saucepan and cook on medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk, until the mixture has thickened or coats the spoon.
(Thermometer should register 160\u00b0.) Stir in vanilla, cool quickly by setting pan in bowl of ice cold water and stirring for about 10 minutes.
Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
