Chicken Cacciatore - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. all-purpose flour
    3 lb. broiler-fryer chicken, cut up
    1/4 c. Crisco oil
    1 medium onion, sliced into rings
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes (undrained)
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
Preparation
    Place flour in bag. Add chicken a few pieces at a time. Shake to coat; repeat with remaining chicken. Heat oil in large skillet. Add chicken. Brown over medium heat. Remove from pan; set aside. Add onion, green pepper and garlic. Saut over medium heat until tender. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, salt and oregano, stirring to crush whole tomatoes. Place chicken pieces on top of tomato mixture. Cover. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook 30 to 40 minutes or until chicken is tender. Serve with hot noodles or rice. Makes 4 servings.
