Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    6 egg yolks
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    12 c. milk
    6 egg whites
    9 Tbsp. sugar
    3 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Beat 1 cup of sugar into egg yolks.
    Add salt; stir in milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture coats a spoon.
    Allow to cool.
    Beat egg whites until foamy.
    Gradually add 9 tablespoons of sugar and beat to soft peaks.
    Add to milk mixture.
    Add 1 quart of commercial eggnog for additional spices and flavor.
