Fat-Free Pear Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 cans pear halves in juice (16 oz.)
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    10 pecan halves (optional)
    1 c. unbleached flour
    2/3 c. whole wheat flour
    1/3 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/3 c. honey or maple syrup
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Drain pears; save juice.
    Coat a 9-inch ovenproof skillet with nonstick cooking spray.
    Place 1 1/2 tablespoons of pear juice in bottom of skillet and distribute evenly.
    Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over pear juice.
    Arrange 10 pear halves over the brown sugar with the cut side down and the widest part of pears toward outer edge.
    Fill in center with pecan halves, if desired.
