Three Bean Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb.) can red kidney beans
    1 (1 lb.) can cut green beans
    1 (1 lb.) can cut wax beans
    1 medium onion, diced
    3/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. oil
Preparation
    Drain beans thoroughly; empty into large bowl.
    Add onion. Dissolve sugar in vinegar; add salt, pepper and oil to bean mixture.
    Stir gently to blend.
    Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
    Serve on lettuce or by itself.
