Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 pkg. dates
1 c. raisins
1c. nuts
2 c. boiling water
3 c. flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspices
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 ring pineapple
1/2 c. cherries

Preparation

Cut dates.
Sprinkle with soda.
Add boiling water.
Let cool. Cream sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and dates mixture.
Add flour, spices and salt which have been sifted 3 times.
Add cherries, pineapple and nuts.
Bake in tube pan for 1 hour at 325\u00b0.
