Orange Sherbet Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. water, divided
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 (46 oz.) can pineapple juice
    1 c. lemon juice
    1/2 gal. orange sherbet, softened
    1 qt. ginger ale
Preparation
    Heat 2 cups of water to boiling.
    Add Jell-O and sugar, stirring to dissolve.
    Add 2 cups cold water and fruit juices. Chill until ready to serve.
    Just before serving, spoon in sherbet and pour in ginger ale.
    Yields 6 1/2 quarts approximately.
