Best Ever Lemon Meringue Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. cornstarch
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. water
    4 egg yolks, slighty beaten
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon peel
    1/2 c. lemon juice
    1 baked (9-inch) pie crust
    4 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Blend cornstarch, 1 1/2 cups sugar and salt in medium saucepan. Stir in water gradually.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to boil.
    Boil 1 minute.
    Stir 1/2 mixture into egg yolks.
    Stir into mixture remaining in saucepan. Cook over low heat 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter, lemon peel and juice.
    Cool slightly.
    Pour into baked crust.
    Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sugar.
    Beat until stiff.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes or meringue lightly brown.
