Sauerkraut Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    1 large can sauerkraut, drain and chop
    1 c. celery, diced or shredded
    1/2 c. onion, diced or shredded
    1/2 or more carrot, diced or shredded
    1 or more green pepper, diced or shredded
    1 Tbsp. celery salt
    celery seed (optional)
Preparation
    Bring sugar and vinegar to boil in saucepan.
    Add chopped vegetables and spices to drained sauerkraut.
    Pour syrup over the vegetables.
    Store in refrigerator in covered jars.
    This improves with age; keeps extremely well.
