Pink Parfait Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. strawberry ice cream, softened
    3 oz. pkg. strawberry jello
    16 oz. pkg. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
    3/4 c. boiling water
    9-inch baked pie shell
    whipped cream (optional)
Preparation
    Empty jello into blender.
    Add boiling water.
    Let stand 10 seconds to soften.
    Cover; blend 10 seconds or until dissolved. Cut package of strawberries in halves.
    Set one half aside for topping, allowing it to thaw.
    Add other half to gelatin mixture along with ice cream.
    Blend until smooth, about 20 seconds. Chill 5 to 10 minutes or until mixture mounds when spooned, stirring occasionally.
    Put into pie shell.
    Chill 3 to 4 hours or until firm.
    Garnish with strawberries and whipped cream, if desired.
