Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. medium cucumbers, sliced
    1 1/2 c. white onion, sliced
    1/3 c. salt
    2 qt. ice cubes
    4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. white vinegar
Preparation
    Wash cukes and slice.
    Next, slice the onion into 1/8 or 1/4-inch slices.
    Add salt and ice to the cukes and onion.
    Let it stand 3 hours.
    Mix sugar, spices and vinegar; heat to boiling. Drain cukes and onion.
    Add to vinegar and heat 5 minutes.
    Pack in pint jars and seal.
