Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. milk
4 beaten eggs
1 1/2 c. Milnot
2 envelopes Knox gelatin
6 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation

Heat milk.
Mix sugar, flour and salt together and gradually stir into milk.
Mix small amount with beaten egg yolks and stir into hot mixture.
Cook over medium heat in heavy pan until thickened.
Stir in gelatin.
Mix well and let cool, then add Milnot and vanilla (14 cups liquid fills 1 gallon freezer).
Freeze in hand-turned or electric ice cream freezer.
