Key Lime Pie(Original "Conch" Recipe) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg yolks, beaten slightly
    15 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
    1/2 c. Key lime juice
    1 (8 or 9-inch) baked pie shell
    4 egg whites
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    green food coloring (if desired)
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks lightly.
    Add condensed milk and beat until well blended.
    Very slowly add lime juice, beating well all the time.
    Pour into cooled shell.
