Borsch(Meatless) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. carrots, grated
1 c. celery, diced
2 c. beets, grated
1 c. cabbage, shredded
1/2 c. fresh or dried mushrooms
2 medium onions, chopped fine
10 grains whole pepper
2 bay leaves
6 1/2 c. water
2 c. tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. cooking oil
salt to taste
dill weed to taste
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation

Grate carrots and beets on medium size grater.
Add diced celery, one chopped onion, salt and cold water and simmer for 1/2 hour.
Fry chopped onion in oil until light in color.
Add cabbage and mushrooms.
Simmer until all vegetables are tender, but firm. Add tomato sauce, seasonings and lemon juice.
