Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    1 1/3 tsp. turmeric seed
    1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
    1 gal. cucumbers (16 c.), sliced
    4 large onions, sliced thin
Preparation
    Mix first 6 ingredients.
    Pour mixture over sliced cucumbers and onions.
    Put in closed containers (do not seal).
    Refrigerate. Will keep 1 year.
    Ready to eat in 1 week.
    Stir once a day for 1 week.
