Cream Of Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 lb. potatoes, diced
    1 stalk celery
    dry onions
    1/3 carrot (for color)
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 lb. American cheese
    5 1/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Add just enough water to cover first five ingredients.
    Simmer until tender.
    Add butter and cheese.
    When cheese melts, add milk.
    Thicken slightly.
