Spanish Rice With Sausage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    4 strips bacon
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 small green pepper, chopped
    1 c. hot water
    1 large can stewed tomatoes
    1 lb. smoked sausage, cut in 1/2-inch slices
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Remove bacon and save.
    Saute onion and green pepper in bacon drippings.
    Add tomatoes, seasonings, uncooked rice and sausage; mix well.
    Add water and stir.
    Simmer on low heat until rice is tender.
    Crumble bacon over the top of casserole and serve.
