Homemade Hamburger Helper - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, chopped
    1 to 1 1/2 lb. ground chuck
    2 cans peeled, chopped tomatoes
    1 bag noodles (elbow or rotelle or any favorite)
    1 c. or so grated Cheddar cheese
    spices: ground cumin, salt, pepper and basil
Preparation
    Saute onion in large skillet.
    Add spices to taste.
    Add ground chuck.
    Cook until browned.
    Drain off excess fat.
    Add 2 cans chopped tomatoes.
    Cook at medium heat for about 30 minutes, until most of the juices have reduced, but still want it somewhat liquidy.
