Easter Eggs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. white sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 small jar candied cherries
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3/4 c. coconut
    2 egg whites
Preparation
    Boil sugar, syrup and water until you hear it crack in cold water when tested.
    Add slowly to stiffly beaten egg whites and beat until mixture begins to thicken. Add fruit and nuts.
    Cool slightly and form into shape using confectioners sugar to keep from sticking to the hands.
    When cold, spread with melted semi-sweet chocolate.
