Banana Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 large eggs
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. double-acting baking powder
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed bananas (2 or 3)
1/3 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening at medium speed.
Gradually add sugar.
Add eggs and beat until very fluffy using #8 speed.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Add to other ingredients alternately with mashed bananas, combined buttermilk and vanilla at #1 speed, scraping sides and bottom of bowl frequently during mixing.
When thoroughly blended, pour into 2 greased and floured 8 or 9-inch layer cake pans.
Bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes until cake tests done.
