Butter Pecan Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, divided
    1 c. butter or margarine, divided
    1 (6 oz.) bag (1 1/2 c.) pecan pieces
    1 c. Hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation
    Beat flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup butter for 2 to 3 minutes at medium speed of mixer until particles are fine.
    Pat firmly into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle with pecans and press lightly.
    Heat remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter until mixture boils.
    Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly; drizzle over pecans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly.
    Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand 2 minutes; using knife lightly swirl melted chips into caramel.
    Cool; cut into bars.
    Makes 36 bars.
