Pecan Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cream
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. white syrup
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 qt. pecan halves
Preparation
    Cook 1 cup cream, sugar, salt and syrup to soft ball stage. Add 1 cup cream.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Add last cup of cream. Cook to firm ball stage.
    Stir often (scorches easily).
    Add vanilla and pecans.
    Stir to coat.
    Pour into buttered cookie sheet and press with hands.
    Cut in squares when cool.
