Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. finely cut onion
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. leftover mashed potatoes
    2 1/2 c. Pet milk
    3/4 c. grated American cheese
Preparation
    Cook onion in shortening slowly until yellow.
    Blend in flour, salt and pepper.
    Stir in water.
    Boil and stir 2 minutes.
    Add and mix mashed potatoes until smooth.
    Stir in Pet milk.
    Add grated cheese.
    Heat slowly until cheese melts.
    Do not boil. Serve hot.
